A staged Baroque Opera is coming is coming to Northeast Tarrant County. The American Baroque Opera Company along with Avant Chamber Ballet will present The Decent of Orpheus to the Underworld or La descente d’Orphée aux enfers.

The 2 act opera, written by French composer Charpentier around 1686 will be Sung in French with English translation provided on screen.  The classic story centers around Orpheus; a musician, poet, and  prophet  in  ancient Greek religion  and his attempt to retrieve his wife  Eurydice  from the underworld.

ABO performs fully staged baroque operas; costumed performances with chamber (small) orchestra using period instruments.
